Selling a copier or printer
We Buy Used Photocopiers and Office Printers on the Sunshine Coast
Before you pay someone to haul that copier off, ring us. We buy used commercial photocopiers, multifunctions and office printers across the Sunshine Coast, and a good many of them are worth more than the cost of getting rid of them. We agree a figure on the phone, collect from your door, and wipe the drive.

Copier and printer repairs, plus machines to buy and sell, on the Sunshine Coast
Sell my photocopier: five minutes before you phone
Most people ringing to sell a photocopier on the Sunshine Coast have never had to describe one. That is fine. A few facts get us to a figure quickly, and you can find all of them standing next to the machine.
Nothing here is a test. If you only get through half of it, ring anyway and we fill the gaps by asking.
- The make and model. It is usually on a label at the front, or inside the door you open to reach the toner.
- The meter reading. Press the counter or status key on the panel, or print a status page. If the menus beat you, a photo of the panel does the job.
- What it does when you press copy. Clean pages, streaks, a grinding noise, an error on the screen. Say what you see.
- What came with it: a finisher, a second or third drawer, a cabinet underneath, a fax board.
- Where it sits. Ground floor beside a roller door is one kind of job. Level three in a medical centre with a lift that is booked out is another.

What shapes the figure
We work from the actual machine, never from a category. Here is what we weigh and why.
| What we look at | Why it matters | What you can do about it |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Some commercial lines are in steady demand. Others are hard to place no matter what condition they are in. | Nothing. Just tell us the exact name from the label. |
| Meter reading | The count of pages the machine has made. It says more about wear than the year on the invoice. | Print the status page and read us the total. |
| Condition | Clean copies, a document feeder that picks up properly, a finisher that staples straight. | Run a few pages before you ring and note anything odd. |
| Parts and toner | A machine whose parts are still around is easy to put back to work. One whose parts have gone is worth less. | Leave this one with us. We know which lines still have support. |
| Service history | A folder of job sheets lets us price with confidence instead of caution. | If someone keeps the paperwork in a drawer, find it. |
Colour machines in good order and floor standing machines with finishers tend to draw the most interest. Small desktop units and older machines are still worth a call, because a bit of refurbishment gives them more life than most people expect.
Photocopier buyers on the Sunshine Coast
People look for this in different words. Photocopier buyers, copier buyers, a buy back, a trade in, cash for photocopiers. They all lead to the same phone call. We buy used commercial photocopiers, multifunctions and office printers across the Sunshine Coast, we agree the figure on the phone, we collect from your door and we wipe the drive before the machine goes anywhere.
If the copier is being replaced, the value of the old one can go towards the new one, and we can quote both on the same call. If it has stopped working, ring anyway: a dead machine can still have value, and our we buy used photocopiers page explains what we look for.
Owned, leased or on a contract
This is the question that catches people out. A machine you own outright is yours to sell. A machine on lease belongs to the finance company until the lease is settled, so we cannot buy it until that is sorted. If you are not sure which you have, look for a lease number on the last invoice or ask whoever pays the bills. We explain what to ask when you phone.
A service contract is separate again. A contract does not stop a machine being sold, but it may have an end date or a notice period, so check the paperwork before you set a collection day.
Selling because you are buying
Many of these calls start with a new machine on the way. If so, the value of the old one can go towards the new one, so the old copier is not sitting in the corner for a month waiting for a pickup. We can quote the replacement at the same time, new or second hand, bought outright or on hire, rent, lease or finance.
Still deciding what to buy? Our guide to choosing a photocopier runs through the questions in plain words.

The hard drive goes nowhere with the data on it
There is a drive inside a modern copier. It keeps images of scans, copies and print jobs, and switching the machine off does nothing to them. Sell privately, or hand the machine to a skip hire, and that drive walks out of the building with everything the office ever scanned.
We wipe the drive on every machine we buy before it is refurbished or sold on. Builders with plans and quotes, a surgery with patient forms, a bookkeeper with payroll: it all matters, and it is all handled the same way.
Do not try to wipe it yourself, and do not pull parts off to be helpful. Leave the machine as it is.
If it has stopped working
A dead machine can still have value. A failed fuser, a worn drum or a tired board may be worth repairing for resale, and if it is not, the parts keep other machines going. After a short phone call we tell you straight which it is. If the answer is scrap or parts value, we say that too.
Not sure whether to repair or let it go? Our page on whether your copier is worth repairing sets out how we weigh it.
Getting the machine ready for collection
There is not much to do, which is the idea. Take the paper out of the drawers, leave the toner where it is, and clear a path from the machine to the door. If a lift is shared with other tenants, book it for the time we agree. A building manager at a Maroochydore or Mooloolaba complex will want to know a van is coming, and ten minutes on the phone to them saves an awkward morning.
Leave the cables and any network settings alone. Our technician disconnects the machine properly, and the drive comes out with it. If there is a stand or cabinet, tell us at the start so we bring the right trolley for the weight.
Spare toner and drums in the cupboard are worth a mention too. Tell us what is there and we say if it is of any use to us.
What not to do first
Do not pay a removalist or a skip bin to take it before you have rung. Do not list it on a marketplace site if the drive is still inside, because the next owner gets your scans. And do not take a service contract end date as the end of the story: ask us about the machine before you decide it is rubbish.
One more thing. If the machine is old and the office is small, the sensible answer is sometimes that it is worth little or nothing, and we say so on the phone. You lose nothing by asking, and you hear it from people who work on these machines all week.

Where we collect
Anywhere on the coast, from Caloundra, Kawana and Birtinya through Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Buderim to Coolum and Noosa, and inland to Nambour, Maleny and Gympie. A shed office near the Kunda Park industrial estate or a front desk at Sippy Downs gets the same treatment as a ground floor suite in a Noosa Junction building. If you are on the edge of that and not sure, phone and ask.
Several machines at once? Send a list. We price them together and collect them in one run.
Belts and rollers
Belts like clean hands and a gentle pull
The transfer belt in a colour copier is thin, smooth and quietly expensive. A crease, a scratch or a smear of skin oil from a bare thumb can print as a faint repeating mark on every colour page for the rest of its life. We wear gloves, we lift it straight out, and we check the rollers that drive it before it goes back.
Honest repairs look dull from the outside. Check, clean, replace the one thing that is worn, test.

- Gloves on. Belts and drums are handled by the edges.
- Check the drive. Worn rollers cause marks that look like belt faults.
- Replace the worn part. Not the whole assembly.

What people ask when they ring
Do you only buy copiers, or printers as well?
Both. Commercial photocopiers and multifunctions, workgroup laser printers and wide format plotters. Small home inkjets are not something we buy.
How do I find the meter reading?
Look for a counter or status key on the panel. If you cannot find one, print a configuration page or send us a photo of the label and the screen, and we walk you through it.
Do I have to accept the figure?
No. We agree a figure on the phone and you decide. If it does not suit you, you keep the machine and nothing is owed.
Will you buy a copier I am still paying off?
Not until the lease is settled, because the finance company owns it. Ring and we explain what to ask them.
Can the value go towards a new machine?
Yes. Tell us what you are thinking of buying and we price both ends together.
What if I have six machines and a closing date?
Send us the list with makes, models and where they are. We price them as a group and collect in one visit.
Does it matter that the machine is old?
Less than you would think. Meter reading, condition and parts support count for more than age.
What do you do with the drive?
We wipe it. Every machine we buy is wiped before it is refurbished or resold.
I am on the Blackall Range. Do you still come?
Yes. Maleny and the hills are part of the same collection area as the beach suburbs.
Do you buy machines that are faulty?
Often. Tell us the make, model and what it does, and we say honestly what we think.
