Caloundra Road and the southern estates
New estates print late. The footpaths are in, the signage is up and then somebody finds that the new copier has not been set up for anyone. We service printers and copiers along the southern coast from Currimundi and Wurtulla, through Little Mountain and Meridan Plains, to Baringa and Nirimba in the Caloundra South estates. Same day service is available, and we quote on the phone before booking.
| Where | What is there | What we plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Currimundi, Wurtulla, Aroona | Small medical suites, real estate offices, a coastal lake setting | Salt in the air, one copier doing everything, referral letters and forms |
| Little Mountain | An inland ridge of established streets along Caloundra Road, trade suppliers, community groups | Shop front parking, a back office machine, a bit of dust |
| Meridan Plains | Houses, home offices, small trade businesses | Spare room machines, network drop outs |
| Baringa, Nirimba, Caloundra South | New homes, new shops, project and sales offices | Brand new machines that need setting up, networks that are still being built |

A new copier rarely works properly on delivery day. The address on the network has not been set. The scan folders do not exist. Nobody has made user codes. Half the computers have a driver that has never heard of the machine.
We do that setup and we explain what we will check before we start. If you bought the machine elsewhere and need it brought up, we can do that too. Our installation and setup page goes through what is covered.
If the old copier is moving with you to a new tenancy, our relocation page covers how we shift it and bring it up working, and the same technicians can repair it afterwards.
A housing project in Caloundra South has a sales office with a plotter or an A3 copier, plans on the wall and a contracts printer that is used hard on weekends. These machines move. The project changes sites and the printer goes with it, and each move is a chance for a cable to be knocked or a setting lost.
We look after those in the same way as anywhere. A check of the paper path, the settings and the network, and a note of what is set so the next move is easier.
A ground floor suite in a small building near Currimundi Lake is quiet, and the machine in it matters. Referral letters, scripts, patient forms and invoices all go through one multifunction. If it stops mid morning the waiting room slows down.
The usual faults are mundane. A tray that will not feed. A fuser that smears. A scan that goes to the wrong folder. We keep the visit short and quiet and put the machine back as we found it.
Caloundra Road runs through the heart of it. The trade suppliers, the community groups, the churches and halls and the little offices above and behind shops all print on a laser or two. They are the sort of places where somebody always knows how the machine used to behave, which helps a lot when we ask what changed.
If a copier has run for years and the bill is heading toward the price of a decent second hand replacement, we tell you. We deal in new and second hand commercial machines, and what we sell is warranted. Where it suits, we take the old machine away.
Between the old town and the new estates there is a belt of buildings from different decades sitting together. A surgery in a converted house, a plumbing business in a unit a few years old, a design studio in a shopfront. Their machines are as mixed as their buildings, and so are their networks. An old printer on a new router often needs its address and settings looked at before it will talk to anything.
The community groups in the area print newsletters, rosters, flyers and the occasional large run for an event. A small laser prints those well enough, but a copier with a document feeder saves a lot of time. Volunteers use these machines and they are rarely the same person two weeks running, so settings need to be simple. We tidy the panel so a new volunteer sees the few options that matter.
When a new area fills up, offices that began as one desk and a printer grow to five desks and a copier. The machine they started with is soon in the wrong place, on the wrong network and loaded with the wrong paper size. A year in, we usually suggest a short review: where the machine is, how many people use it, whether a larger copier is warranted, and what the page counts say.
That review can be done on the phone. It rarely leads to a sale. Often the answer is to leave everything alone.
Shops and takeaway counters along the southern stretch print dockets, supplier orders and rosters. The commonest trouble is the thermal docket printer. A pale print is a dirty head or a worn roller, a skewed print is a loose roll, and a blank print is thermal paper loaded the wrong way round. That last one is surprisingly common and takes ten seconds to correct.
New estates mean new internet connections, and many new offices have a router that the provider set up for a home and a landlord who has not thought about printers. A printer that works on Monday and vanishes on Tuesday is often being given a different address each time it connects. A reserved address in the router fixes that at no cost, and we can do it when we set up the machine.
A suite a few streets from the lake has a damp, salty draught, and the machine feels it. Paper curls, rollers glaze and the lid seals go stiff. The simple habits matter: keep paper wrapped, keep the machine off a window sill, and run a test page after a long closure. If the first page is faint or streaky, ring us and say so.
Real estate agents print contracts, condition reports and photos of listings, often in a hurry before a signing. They need a machine that duplexes cleanly, scans straight to email and prints colour that is not streaky. A document feeder that skews pages loses time, and we check the feed rollers and the separation pad on those as a matter of routine.
Firmware
Some faults are not a worn part at all. A copier that drops off the network, a scan to email that stops, a panel that freezes on one screen: these can come from firmware, or from a setting that got changed after a power cut. A technician who only carries a screwdriver will swap parts and still have the fault. A good one asks when it started and what changed.
Before any update we note the settings, the address book and the scan destinations, so your staff are not rebuilding them on Monday morning.

Often a worn drum or a developer problem. The haze can also be the wrong paper or too much toner. We look at the page and the machine and tell you which.
Probably not. It is usually a driver or network address on the second computer. We can sort it on the phone or on a visit.
Same day service is available. The earlier you phone, the better the odds. If we miss you, the call is logged and returned.
